Westwood beats Mount Vernon Yacht Club 360-111

WCC s Swim Team ~ the Whirlwinds ~ plunged into the season with a sound victory over Mount Vernon Yacht Club. Led by two car caravans, the Whirlwinds whirled into Mount Vernon Yacht Club sporting funky wigs and hats, tie-dyed shirts, peace signs and more! The usual warm-ups, cheers and chants took place with the popular Boom Chicka Boom being the most fun for the kids. The Whirlwinds took to the water and out raced the MVYC Dolphins 360 to 111.
Individual top swimmers are noted in the accompanying table. All of Westwood s relay teams did well too. No pool or league records were broken.
Congratulations to all the swimmers for their effort and enthusiasm especially those swimmers swimming in their very first swim meet! Congratulations to new Head Coach John Dragelin on his first win!
The Whirlwinds will compete in five more dual meets, two relay carnivals and the All-Star meet through July. Stay tuned for more info on the team s success. Go Whirlwinds!
